Additionally, the network has announced that, as it recently did with the casting for the upcoming The Amazing Race 5, it will conduct open casting calls at participating CBS-owned stations across the country in order to provide camcorder-less hopefuls with a means to make a three-minute videotape. The details of the onsite casting calls will be announced at a later date.

Mail-in application forms are being accepted now through Jan. 27, 2004 and must be accompanied by a three-minute videotape. To obtain a copy of the application from CBS.com, click here.

As with previous editions of the program, once all the tapes have been reviewed, the producers will fly to cities across the country to conduct in-person interviews with the selected semi-finalists. These interviews will then be used to determine the finalists who will fly to Los Angeles for additional interviews and extensive physical, psychological and background checks. A final cutdown will form the group of sixteen who will participate in the ninth installment of Survivor, to be filmed in Summer 2004 and broadcast in the Fall 2004. The location for the ninth installment of Survivor has yet to be announced.
