As with previous editions of the program, once all the tapes have been reviewed, the producers will fly to cities across the country to conduct in-person interviews with the selected semi-finalists. According to information released by CBS, approximately 800 semi-finalists will be interviewed in 13 American cities.
The regional interviews will then be used to determine the approximately 48 finalists who will fly to Los Angeles in April 2005 for additional interviews and extensive physical, psychological and background checks. A final cutdown will form the group of contestants who will participate in the eleventh installment of Survivor, which will be filmed in Summer 2005 and broadcast in Fall 2005.
Survivor's tenth installment, Survivor: Palau, concluded filming earlier this month and will air on CBS in early 2005. According to Survivor host Jeff Probst, Survivor: Palau will feature twenty contestants and see the Survivor game "changed in a dramatic way," with "everything the survivors have come to expect being wiped out in the first ten minutes."
