TV Guide Online reports that CBS chairman and CEO Les Moonves has not made a final decision regarding the network's controversial proposed reality-TV show The Real Beverly Hillbillies. Although the concept alone has generated continuing protests (including one from a U.S. senator), Moonves said that "we haven't made any decision [about the show's future] yet."

Moonves also was quoted by the Financial Times as adding, "You want to know the truth? I don't have a plan." To us, this quote has more meaning than Les Moonves' rote denials that he'll let political pressure influence him. In our experience, Les Moonves ALWAYS has a plan for any show that's going forward. We'll allow our readers to draw their own conclusions about what the absence of a Moonves plan for The Real Beverly Hillbillies means.
