Now that Lance Bass is reportedly "locked and loaded" to participate in Dancing with the Stars' seventh season, whether or not the openly gay former N'Sync member will have a male partner has become a hot topic of conversation.

"I don't think that would happen," two-time Dancing with the Stars professional champ Cheryl Burke told E! News in a Friday report.  "I don't think America is ready to watch two men dancing."

While Burke might not think the viewing public is prepared for two men dancing on television, Dancing with the Stars first-season celebrity champ Kelly Monaco disagrees.

"If you want to shock the world and give them something new, I think it's fantastic," Monaco told E! News. "I support it 100%!"

Not surprisingly, Monaco's stance is also supported by gay media watchdog group GLAAD.

"ABC has shown an admirable commitment to representing gay people on many of their most popular shows," a GLAAD rep told E! News in a statement. "We hope they continue to build on that in the future."

Dancing with the Stars seventh season will premiere with a special two-hour performance episode on Monday, September 22 at 8PM ET/PT.

ABC will formally reveal the show's seventh-season cast during Good Morning America's August 25 broadcast.
