Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines are ending Fixer Upper after five seasons, but Chip apparently wouldn't be opposed to starring on a new show of his own in the near future.

"I think it would have to be a show where it was me, just all by myself -- that could be a thing that I would be interested in," Chip said with a big smile. "But Jo and I together, I feel like I'm outgrowing the partnership."
Chip and Joanna announced they needed a break from Fixer Upper in September, revealing that they want to focus on their marriage and four children -- Drake, 12; Ella, 11; Duke, 9; and Emmie Kay, 7.
The reality TV couple have been starring on Fixer Upper since the show premiered with a pilot in May 2013 and began airing its first full season in April 2014.
"It is bittersweet," Joanna told E! News of the popular show's sudden conclusion. "I think for us, this season, five seasons, just felt right to close this chapter to this beautiful story."
The 39-year-old mother added, "Our kids are getting older, and for us, time seems to be slipping away faster, so I think we wanted to take a step back and get refreshed and focus on what it is that's next for us."
Season 4 of Fixer Upper just concluded in March 2017, and Season 5 is slated to debut in November of this year.
Although the couple didn't reveal whether there was a pivotal moment when the conversation to stop filming Fixer Upper commenced, Chip admitted he began to pull back from the show once he realized spontaneity was missing.
"I feel like at the beginning of my career, as a business guy, spontaneity was real important to me. And I felt like these last few months, I had lost a step in that department," revealed Chip, whose book Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff just hit shelves.
"It just became evident to me that that's a real important part of my make up, to keep things fresh and stay one step ahead the curb, if you will... I would rather be missed any day of the week than I'd rather you get tired of me. And I've got a feeling... that [people] are growing tired of me."
In addition to Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna's other successes include a home-improvement business, Magnolia Market store, The Magnolia Journal, and retail collaborations including a partnership with Target.
