Charles "Chock" Chapple made Joan Vassos believe in fate on her The Golden Bachelorette season.

Chock is a 60-year-old insurance executive from Wichita, KS, who made a strong first impression on Joan by asking her to taste his famous "Chock-o-noodle soup," which the blonde beauty said was "delicious."

Chock said that Joan gave him "butterflies" in his stomach early on and that he was "mesmerized" by The Golden Bachelorette's star beauty and poise.

Chock received the first one-on-one date of the season in which he and Joan got to be kids again and explore Disneyland.

Joan, gushing over Chock's beautiful blue eyes, told the cameras that Chock seemed to be a gentleman and family man, and she apparently loved seeing his playful and fun side.

Joan told the bachelor that he made her feel safe and comfortable, and so she gave him a rose during their date. Joan said she thought she had a lot in common with Chock.

"I don't necessarily believe in fate, but this surprises [me]... We both learned from those great loves that we had," Joan shared in a confessional. "I just feel really connected to Chock and I feel like a princess. I am so happy and really hopeful!"

Chock is hoping to meet an adventurous and compassionate woman who enjoys spending time with family.

When Chock isn't working or spending time with his kids and his beloved black Lab named Super Tubbs, he loves exercising and rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chock would also love a good shopping partner given his guilty pleasure is shopping and finding a good sale.

Chock was almost married twice before his The Golden Bachelorette stint

Chock was married for 12 years and had kids with this woman, but it didn't work out.

After three years of being single, Chock met a woman named Kathy White Goree, and he eventually proposed marriage to her.

Chock's late fiancee Kathy passed away at age 52 in October 2022 after a battle with brain cancer.

Kathy died about five months after doctors discovered tumors on her brain, according to Chock.

Chock did not apply to compete on Joan's The Golden Bachelorette season

Chock's 24-year-old daughter actually nominated him for The Golden Bachelorette.

"She says, 'Dad, you're not going to be happy with what I did,'" Chock recalled of his daughter's application on his behalf.

"And I said, 'What did you do?!' When a kid does that, [it's scary]! She goes, 'I signed you up for The Golden Bachelor,' and so that started the process."

Chock's daughter had predicted Joan would be the show's star before her official casting was announced.

While Chock is well-traveled, he put down roots in Kansas decades ago

Chock is originally from a small town in Garden Plain, KS, but he's spent the last 30 years in Wichita.

Chock attended Kansas State University and graduated with degrees in both Labor Relations and General Business Administration.

Insurance is apparently in the Chapple family's blood

Chock's grandfather and father were insurance professionals dating back to the 1920's.

Chock is the President of Insurance Services Group, LLC, a full service agency, according to his LinkedIn.

Chock says he specializes in insurance for family-owned and managed businesses.

The senior bachelor began this job in January 2020, and he's been working full-time ever since.

Chock believes love can be found at any age

ABC says that Chock is kind, loves adventure, and has had a successful career owning his own business.

Chock has a very full life with his kids and his work, but something has been missing in his life -- a partner!

After the loss of his fiancee, Chock says he wants to find love again more than anything else. He's enthusiastic about finding that spark with a woman again.
