Chris Harrison has revealed it wasn't entirely Madison Prewett's fault Peter Weber's family allegedly waited three hours to meet Madison and Peter in Australia on The Bachelor.

Peter's mother Barbara Weber blasted Madison for essentially being rude and disrespectful during The Bachelor's Season 24 live finale on Tuesday night.

"[Monday night's episode] didn't show everything... [Our relationship with Madison] started on a rocky road because she had us wait three hours for her to come in. She didn't want to meet us," Barbara claimed.

"We had just come across the country -- or excuse me, across the world -- and we were exhausted and we were just getting used to the time there. And we had to wait three hours. When she did come in, the whole family, we didn't get an apology from her."

But Chris defended Madison during Wednesday's episode of On Air With Ryan Seacrest.

"What truly upset Peter's mom with Madison?" Ryan Seacrest asked, recalling how Barbara claimed viewers didn't see everything that happened on TV.

"I honestly don't know what rubbed her the wrong way, but I will say one thing on Madison's behalf -- them being late was just as much on Peter as it was Madison," Chris insisted.

"The reason they were late [was] they were having a discussion out front. They were having a discussion of, 'Are they going to do this? Are we even at the stage where we should meet your parents?'"

"And so that discussion was between the two of them," Chris added, "so it wasn't Madison throwing a fit. It wasn't Madison doing her makeup and being late. It was Peter as well."

Barbara went on to admit the family adored Hannah Ann Sluss and had no connection with Madison, especially after Madison allegedly said she wasn't madly in love with Peter or ready to accept a marriage proposal in just a few days.

"I did not see Barb coming. Obviously I knew what was happening with his relationships, but I didn't know how it was going to end with his relationship," Chris shared.

"I knew Barb wasn't happy. I could tell by the body language and saying 'hi' to her. So I knew she was in a bit of a mood, but I did not understand how angry she was going to be with her son, with Madison, the whole thing!"

Being a parent himself, Chris acknowledged he could understand Barbara and her passion for wanted what is best for Peter.

"But in my opinion, there's ways to be right and wrong at the same time," Chris admitted on the radio show.

"I'm not saying she's wrong with what she was saying, but was she really right in how she did it? Maybe it wasn't the time and place."

Chris, however, apparently received an equal amount of messages supporting or criticizing Barbara.

"I have just as many 'Go Team Barb' messages on my social media as I do from the opposite side going, 'That was crazy! What was she doing to her son on national TV?' And so it's funny how it's a really divided camp of people that are 'Team Mom' or 'Team Peter,'" Chris said.

But Chris did sympathize with Peter and what he was going through after such a wild night that unfolded live on TV.

"I walked offstage [Tuesday] night... and I saw Peter and he was visibly upset. He was really upset, understandably," Chris explained.

"When you have the wherewithal to actually look at your mom and say, 'Mom, please stop. I love this girl' -- I really kept trying to turn the page for Barb and say, 'Look, can't we get past this? Let's just wish the best for them and whatever happens, happens.'"

Despite disapproval from his family, Peter decided to continue dating Madison because they're still in love with each other.

Peter planned to take their relationship one day at a time considering he and Madison had both hurt each other on The Bachelor season and had a lot of issues and differences to overcome.

"I don't know where it goes from here. Long story short, I really don't know," Chris said of Peter and Madison's future together.

"I know that Peter was extremely upset and so was Madison. And you know, Peter goes home. I fully expected to see him on my porch last night."

Given Chris is basically neighbors with Peter and his family, Chris joked, "They live very close to me, so I don't think I'll be going to the local pubs any time soon."

On The Bachelor this season, Madison quit the show before the Final Rose Ceremony because she was worried her lifestyle was far too different from Peter's and she didn't want him to change for her. She feared loving each other would always be an uphill battle because they simply weren't compatible.

Peter therefore proposed marriage to Hannah Ann, who had been so open about her love for him, but he broke up with her after realizing he couldn't give the bachelorette his entire heart.

Chris therefore played matchmaker and informed Madison that Peter was single again, setting up a reunion for the pair that resulted in them getting back together. Madison claimed she regretted leaving Peter in Australia and wished she had done things differently because her love for him was strong and real.
