Christian Hubicki was eliminated from Survivor: David vs. Goliath during the latest Survivor Season 37 episode on CBS.

Christian, a 32-year-old robotics scientist from Baltimore, MD, who currently resides in Tallahassee, FL, was voted out on Night 35 through a 3-2-2 vote at Tribal Council. He became the fourteenth castaway to leave the game and Survivor: David vs. Goliath's seventh jury member.

The castaways who received two votes apiece were Alison Raybould, a 28-year-old physician from Leawood, KS, who currently resides in Chapel Hill, NC, and Davie Rickenbacker, a 30-year-old social media manager from Orangeburg, SC, who currently resides in Atlanta, GA.

Davie and Nick Wilson, a 27-year-old public defender from Williamsburg, KY, who currently resides in London, KY, both played hidden Immunity Idols for themselves, but the idols were clearly wasted.

During a recent exclusive interview with Reality TV World, Christian talked about his Survivor experience. Below is the concluding portion of what he had to say.

Reality TV World: The night Gabby Pascuzzi went home, the episode showed you looking at each of your fellow David Tribe members when Jeff Probst asked if anyone wanted to play an idol at that Tribal Council. Had you planned to play your idol all along or did you make a last-minute decision based on the reactions you got from people?

Christian Hubicki: As soon as Davie told me, this is what I knew I was going to do. I tried to flip the vote around, but I knew at Tribal Council I would almost certainly have to play this idol. 

And so, my looking at everyone's faces was to sell to everyone there -- who didn't know I was tipped off -- to give a good reason why I would play the idol.

I just pretended like I sniffed it out, that I would look Gabby in the eye and she would give me some kind of tell. There was no tell and I played the idol.

So, it was theater to cover up the fact I had all these back-channel alliances of people letting me know what was going down with the vote. It was also the same reason I voted for Alison when I knew it would be Gabby going instead -- because that's what I was supposed to have known.

Reality TV World: Your "Mason-Dixon" alliance with Nick broke down somewhere along the way. Was it just the Carl Boudreaux vote that blew it up or were you two losing touch even before then?

Christian Hubicki: Yeah! I felt there was a little bit of a distance in the lead up to that Carl vote for sure, but then again, it was almost by design though. Nick and I didn't pal around camp a lot come the merge, you know, we were trying to keep things on the sly.

It's kind of what I did with Davie actually. And so, I did feel a little bit more distant from Nick, but it definitely was the Carl vote that made that disintegrate. And that was a calculation I had made. Whether it was a smart one, it's up to people.

Reality TV World: Were you surprised Nick got so angry at you? Because it seems like most of the players this season just don't take things very personally -- but Nick was pissed. (Laughs)

Christian Hubicki: I knew Nick would be mad; I didn't know how mad. And watching the episode that was a real surprise to me, that he took it that personally.

I mean, yeah, I left him out of a vote and certainly made a move without him knowing -- and he has a right to be mad about that, for sure, and I expected he would -- but I think Nick is a man who actually has pretty deep emotions and I think he was really feeling those in that moment. Because, yeah, he seemed quite mad.

Reality TV World: Had you stayed in the game, who would have been in your ideal Final 3 or Final 2 with you? Whom would you have liked to take to the end in a perfect world, barring any changes from the final firestarting challenge, of course.

Christian Hubicki: So, my ideal scenario was that I make the Final 3. That was the end of parameters I had for making the finals. And this is not something, like, "Oh my gosh, I would have won no matter what!" That's not what I'm saying.

It's just I was targeted at Final 13, Final 12, Final 11. I was immune at 10. Targeted at eight and then targeted at seven. If I had survived seven, I basically would have survived every -- I was just trying to get by vote to vote.

I cannot dedicate any mental energy or any sort of strategic value to crafting my perfect Final 3; I just have to get there! Anything else would be self-defeating, I felt.

Reality TV World: It seemed like all the castaways thought you would have won the game no matter what, no matter who you were sitting next to, had you went all the way. Could you have seen that happening?

Christian Hubicki: That's kind and perceptive of you. I'll put it like this: If I survived being targeted six, seven times after the merge and get to the Final 3, I think it would've been hard for anyone in that situation on the jury to say, "Guess what? You still lose."

I think that would be a hard thing to say in respective of the kind things people have been saying about me this season, which I of course appreciate.

Reality TV World: Had you been in Davie's shoes and given the opportunity to wager your vote to extend the life of a hidden Immunity Idol, would you have played the little four-urn game or just ran away with the idol like Davie had decided to do?

Christian Hubicki: I would have taken that idol and ran with it! If I was immune for this vote, I would take it! I was not confident enough to say, "Guess what? I'm definitely not the target this week."

I mean, I thought the vote was going to go the way I wanted, but if I were Davie, I would play that [idol]. I would have taken that idol and run.

Reality TV World: As a jury member, I'm assuming your criteria for choosing the winner of Survivor boiled down to who played the best game. That's what every castaway seems to say. So what qualified as "the best game" in your mind?

Christian Hubicki: So my criteria of "the best game" is played by someone who maximized their chances of winning in their eyes and their assessment of the game.

So, for instance, with Gabby, she felt that if she went to the end or close to the end with me, she would have no chance to win because I would absorb all credit for her moves, and she was right! And I didn't want that.

So by her taking me out, had it worked, she made an aggressive and dangerous move to maximize her chances of winning in her eyes. And so, that would be a winning criteria for instance. But I would assess that for every player as well.

"Did this person make moves thinking this would get them a little further, or did this person make a move saying, 'This maximizes my chances of winning?'"

Reality TV World: How were you cast on Survivor? How did you end up on the show this season?

Christian Hubicki: I had applied three times in the last several years, and I hadn't heard anything back. This last time though, I was about to start my professor gig probably.

I was probably going to get my professor job, but I said, "If I'm going to go, this might be the ideal time, or it may be the only time. I don't know. So I should apply again."

So I applied again for the fourth time and I got a call, and this is the time that worked!

Reality TV World: I'd be shocked if you aren't approached by producers to play Survivor again. Would you accept if the opportunity presented itself?

Christian Hubicki: It's a hard thing to say "no" to. I certainly would take the call and consider it very seriously.
