Colton Underwood has fired back at haters and critics, who are making jokes about the fact The Bachelorette bachelor is a virgin.

After The Bachelorette episode aired Monday night in which Colton informed Becca Kufrin he's never had sex before, Colton's virginity became a topic of discussion among viewers and the press.

However, the 26-year-old former professional football player doesn't like some of what he's hearing.
"The double standards in today's society... it's okay if you don't agree with my personal choices, but some of your talk shows take it too far. 'Don't trust a virgin' but you'll trust your 3 baby daddies who cheat on you every weekend. Okay," Colton tweeted on Tuesday.

Although Colton didn't direct his tweet at anyone specific, his "talk show" and "don't trust a virgin" comments appear to be a reference to talk show host Wendy Williams, who made headlines earlier this week for her thoughts on Colton's virginity.
"I don't trust people that have never had a drink, a smoke, and I don't trust people that have never had sex... [Becca] is a grown woman," Wendy said on her July 10 episode.
"She's supposed to get engaged at the end of this show, she's never checked out his junk, he's never used his junk, this is not realistic... So this is why I don't watch The Bachelorette because of this corniness right here."

While Colton mostly received support from people on social media, there were many people who found his "baby daddies" remark racist and sexist given the apparent connection to Wendy, an African American female.

"Wendy Williams has one child with her ex-husband. His last line is clearly racist as heck," one Twitter user wrote.
"This comment is gross and has some pretty problematic racial undertones," tweeted another person.
As a result, Colton followed up his initial tweet with, "And just to clearify, my point was not to be taken as a shot at any race, sex, or religion. Simply wanted to say we can do better as a society to speak our truth and support others views and beliefs."

Still, Colton's two Twitter posts sparked a little debate in the comments' section.

"You directed it at a black woman and it wasn't even true, meaning you stereotyped her based on racist tropes," tweeted one person at Colton.
"I'm a black woman that works with 3 white guys that have kids by different women and we talk about them being 'baby daddy's' all the time. It doesn't matter what color you are. Grow up. Be proud Colt!" tweeted a Colton fan.
"How is this statement racist or sexist? No skin color was brought up. All races have cheating men and baby daddies," argued another person.
Colton revealed to Becca during their one-on-one date in the Bahamas that he's a virgin. Colton explained he's not necessarily waiting for marriage but rather the right woman to come into his life and steal his heart.

Colton added that while he was once ashamed of his lack of experience -- due to his focus on playing professional football -- he's now proud of himself and views his virginity as "a gift" to give to someone special.
