Colton Underwood's The Bachelor season is different -- and "a little better" -- than Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s edition last year because Colton really challenged the show's producers, according to Chris Harrison.

"[It's] very unconventional," Harrison teased of The Bachelor's upcoming 23rd season during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"That's the reason why I say it's different than Arie, and maybe a little better, just because as much as we pushed Colton, he pushed us."

The franchise's longtime host is seemingly echoing Colton's recent comments to ET about how he had handled the difficult dating process of dating 30 women at once.

"I did things my way, and I changed the game... I gave production a run for their money," Colton bragged.

Harrison insisted Colton will stand out from the pack because he is "a strong dude," both "physically and emotionally."

"Fence jumping aside, there was a lot of times when he pushed back and it made us think and made us adjust course," Harrison explained.

"The the season took a lot of twists and turns that it's very raw and just open. I don't think it will feel very produced to you... Colton was more of the organic feel where he was really going with the flow, so things would change on a whim."

Harrison previously said Colton's season of The Bachelor will be a "wild ride" as well as "gut-wrenching," and the "organic feel" to it probably plays a big role.

In a separate interview with People, Colton opened up about how he was "undeniably myself" while filming The Bachelor's 23rd season.

"I'm not this perfect dude. I have mistakes and I have flaws but I'm going to grow and get better from it," Colton said.

"Throughout my football career, I've always been somebody who's been very aware and I know when the camera is on me and I know how to be polished, I can see how that might come off as disingenuous. So for the first time, it was like this is really me."

Colton added, "I'm undeniably myself, and I think realizing that is the way to live life. I may be goofy, I may be corny and I may be cheesy, but I'm me."

The Bachelor is set to premiere Monday, January 7 with a three-hour event at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
