John-David proposed marriage only one month after the couple went public with their courtship.
"The proposal and the 'yes' really solidified that we want to spend the rest of our lives together," the pair told Us Weekly. "It was a special moment to share together."
Although John-David and Abbie recently began their courtship, the couple has known each other for years.
Abbie, 26, revealed she "really got connected" to John-David, 28, when he traveled to a church event in Oklahoma, where she was born and raised.
Back in June, John-David shared with the magazine, "We fell in love very quickly."
The Arkansas constable and part-time officer with the Tontitown Police Department added that God plays a big role in their relationship.
"One of the most amazing things about following Christ is being able to trust Him to direct your path and lead your life," the couple explained. "We are so thankful that He led us to one another."
Next comes a wedding dress, a venue, a florist, invitations, and more!
"We need to start thinking about a wedding!" said John-David and Abbie.
John-David and Abbie's exciting news comes just weeks after his younger brother Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson exchanged vows and tied the knot in Arkansas on July 1.
The new season of Counting On is set to premiere on Monday, July 30 at 9PM ET/PT on TLC.
