Dancing with the Stars' eleventh season has its first shocker.

Former The Hills star Audrina Patridge and professional partner Tony Dovolani -- whom the show's judges had deemed one of the season's frontrunners -- were eliminated from the ballroom dancing competition during Tuesday night's sixth live eleventh-season results show on ABC.

Patridge and Dovolani were ousted from the competition based on the combination of the Dancing with the Stars judges' scores they received during Monday night's performance show and the home viewer votes which were cast afterwards.

"I don't even know!" Patridge replied when Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke asked what was going through her mind following her shocking elimination.

"I just know that I had so much fun this entire experience and I made such good, new friends and Tony has been such an amazing teacher.  I'm definitely going to be coming back to visit... and thank you [to the judges] for all the comments, it did help as motivation.  And all the fans, for all the support and everything.  It's been a fun journey."

Patridge and Dovolani had finished in second place on Monday night's judging leaderboard after they received 24 out of 30 possible points from Dancing with the Stars judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli for their paso doble routine and eight additional points during a dance marathon in which the top couple had earned 10 points.

Given their Monday night performance, the mere idea that Patridge and Dovolani were in danger of elimination had astounded the judges.

"I can't believe it, to be honest.  She's been incredibly good over the competition.  She has improved, her technique gets better and better and better.  She's very clean," Tonioli said before Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron revealed the couple's ouster.

"Our comments in regard to her performance in the Latin [dances] are because we know she's good, she's got it -- we want her to do better.  But she is great, I am very, very surprised to see her in this situation, I really am."

Actress Jennifer Grey and partner Derek Hough were the other couple still in danger of elimination prior to Patridge and Dovolani's ouster, but Bergeron noted they were not necessarily the other couple in the bottom two based on the combination of the judges' scoring and home viewer votes.

However the possibility that either couple could be going home was inconceivable to Goodman given Grey and Hough had topped the judges' leaderboard in three of the competition's first six weeks.

"I'm almost at a loss for words.  This is ludicrous!  That these two -- one of these -- is going home is absolutely nonsense!" Goodman exclaimed.

"Now I know the American people and the British, we like the underdog.  But we like justice more, and there is no justice with these two being [in the bottom two], it's nonsense!"

Singer Brandy Norwood and professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy had finished in first place on Monday night's judging leaderboard after they received 26 points -- including two nines from Goodman and Tonioli -- for their tango routine and 10 points during the marathon.

Former NBA basketball player Rick Fox and partner Cheryl Burke and Disney Channel star Kyle Massey and partner Lacey Schwimmer had finished tied for third place on the judges' leaderboard.

Fox and Burke had received 24 points for their tango and six points during the marathon while Massey and Schwimmer had earned 23 points for their own tango but finished a point ahead with seven points in the marathon.

Grey and Hough had received 20 points from the judges during the initial individual performance round but earned nine additional points during the marathon -- leaving them in fifth place on the judges' leaderboard.

Teen mom Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas had finished in sixth place after their tango performance earned 23 points from the judges and they received five points during the marathon.

Retired NFL quarterback Kurt Warner and partner Anna Trebunskaya had finished in last place after receiving 18 points for their paso doble and only four points during the marathon.
