Dancing with the Stars contestant Brant Daugherty was recently mugged at gunpoint but got very lucky in the end.

Daugherty, an actor and Pretty Little Liars star, returned after last week's Dancing with the Stars performance show and was confronted by a man holding a gun, telling him to hand over his bag of possessions.
"After the show I got dropped off and was walking up to my apartment building and a man followed me up with a gun and told me to give him my stuff," Daugherty told People following Monday night's broadcast.
"It was a complete random occurrence of events and it led up to one of the worst nights of my life -- after having such a great night last week on the dance floor."
Police told Daugherty, 28, they had never received a report similar to his in the "very safe neighborhood" where he was robbed, according to People.

However, the thief apparently didn't benefit much from his attack, as Daugherty only offered up workout pants, two T-shirts, dance shoes, a toothbrush and his cell phone. The actor reportedly called police once he could get to a phone.
Daugherty met with his professional dancing partner Peta Murgatroyd the very next morning, and Murgatroyd told the magazine she could tell something was off about him.
"He came in the next morning... and he was so flustered and emotional. I was like, 'Oh my Lord, he's had the worst time,'" Murgatroyd explained.
"You don't really know how to react to something like that," agreed Daugherty.
However, the couple apparently laughed about the incident and tried to make light of the situation.

"Somewhere out there there's a dancing thief with great teeth," joked the actor. "We like to joke that we changed his life. When he got my dance shoes he swore away his life of crime and he's going to start doing the salsa now."
Despite his sense of humor, Daugherty has inevitably been affected by the life-threatening event.
"You're laughing one minute, then you kind of get a little overwhelmed and start crying," he told People. "Then you're laughing again. It was kind of a roller coaster of a week."
But one thing is for sure, Daugherty's experience with the mugger didn't affect his ability to focus on this week's dance with Murgatroyd. The pair happened to receive the best scores of the night during Monday's show, earning 27 out of 30 possible points from the Dancing with the Stars judges for their quickstep routine.
That's a huge step up from the two prior weeks of competition, as the couple had tied for sixth place both times on the judges' leaderboard after receiving no higher than 23 points.
