The former Bill Nye the Science Guy star and Stecklein became the second couple eliminated from the competition based on the combination of the Dancing with the Stars judges' scores they had received during last night's performance show dubbed "Hollywood Night" and the home viewer votes that were cast following last Monday night's episode.

"There's people here who are working so hard and are so good. You see how they are improving every week. I'm not going to be able to keep up for that, but what breaks my heart is Tyne's not going to be able to stay in. She's fantastic, you guys. Thank you all very much. Thanks for keeping me in even this long. Some people are extraordinary. It's really been cool. It's been a great experience," Nye explained following his ouster.

"It's been amazing," Stecklein said, adding that she's going to miss Nye's sense of humor and "maybe" his science facts a little bit. "I'm so honored to be here and I've been partnered with this guy for my first season."

Nye and Stecklein finished tied for tenth -- and last -- place on Monday night's leaderboard with actress Valerie Harper and her partner Tristan MacManus.

Both couples earned only 16 out of 30 possible points from Dancing with the Stars judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Nye, who was suffering from a torn ligament in his knee, and Stecklein danced a jazz routine. Harper and MacManus performed the cha cha.

Singer and former The Voice social media correspondent Christina Milian and partner Mark Ballas were the other couple still in danger of elimination prior to Nye and Stecklein's ouster, although Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet revealed Milian and Ballas weren't necessarily one of the bottom-two couples based on the combination of the judges' scores and America's vote.

Milian and Ballas finished tied for second place on the judges' leaderboard with Disney Channel star Corbin Bleu and partner Karina Smirnoff after they each received 26 points from the judges for their routines. Milian and Ballas danced the Charleston while Bleu and Smirnoff performed a quickstep routine.

First place on Monday night's leaderboard went to actor and Pretty Little Liars star Brant Daugherty and partner Peta Murgatroyd. They danced a quickstep routine which earned 27 points from the judges.

Fourth place represented a tie between actress and former Step It Up and Dance host Elizabeth Berkley and Jersey Shore and Snooki & Jwoww star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi after they both earned 25 points for their dances. Berkley and partner Val Chmerkovskiy took the stage with a foxtrot routine, while Polizzi and partner Sasha Farber danced the quickstep.

Sixth place on the leaderboard was a tie at 24 points amongst three celebrities: Actress and former The Talk co-host Leah Remini, comedian Bill Engvall and actress and Glee star Amber Riley. Remini and partner Tony Dovolani performed a rumba, Engvall and partner Emma Slater danced the paso doble, and Riley and partner Derek Hough took the dance floor with the Charleston.

Former The Osbournes and Armed & Famous star Jack Osbourne and partner Cheryl Burke finished in ninth place on last night's leaderboard after they danced a cha cha routine which received 22 points from the judges.

The 10 remaining seventeenth-season Dancing with the Stars couples will return for another two-hour performance show on Monday, October 7, during which the night's scores from the judges and the home viewer voting results cast following last night's show will be combined and one more couple will be eliminated.
