Dancing with the Stars eliminated semifinalist Tommy Chong and his professional dance partner Peta Murgatroyd during Monday night's live nineteenth-season broadcast on ABC.

The comedian and Peta became the ninth couple eliminated from the competition based on the combination of the Dancing with the Stars judges' scores they had received during last week's performance show and the home viewer votes that were cast immediately following that episode.

Tommy and Peta consistently landed at the bottom of the judges' leaderboard each week this season. They had finished in last place frequently in more recent weeks.

"I always had a theory that dancing made you young, and this experience has proven me to be right. The only way you can change the world is by changing yourself, and I've been able to change myself in front of a lot of people. I'm very proud of what I've accomplished," Tommy said in a video package that played following his ouster.

"I thought I'd be out Week 1," Peta added in tears. "But it's been probably the most rewarding partnership I've ever had."

Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson and partner Mark Ballas were the other couple still in danger of elimination prior to Tommy and Peta's ouster, however, they were not necessarily one of the bottom-two couples based on the judges' scores and America's votes.

Monday night's Dancing with the Stars broadcast featured the five remaining couples each performing a plugged and unplugged version of the same song -- the regular rendition of the song and then a more stripped-down, acoustic version of the tune -- for show judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough, and Bruno Tonioli

First place on the judges' leaderboard went to actress and Pretty Little Liars star Janel Parrish and partner Val Chmerkovskiy. The couple danced to "Blame It On the Night" by Calvin Harris and earned a total of 78 out of 80 possible points from the judges. Janel and Val first danced a paso doble routine worth a perfect score of 40 points and then followed it up with the Argentine tango, which received 38 additional points.

YouTube fashionista Bethany Mota and partner Derek Hough finished in second place on the leaderboard with 76 total points after performing two renditions of Jackson 5's "I Want You Back." They first took the stage with the samba and earned 36 points from the judges. Bethany and Derek then danced a contemporary routine, which received a perfect score of 40 points.

Right on Bethany and Derek's heels were actor and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribeiro and partner Witney Carson with 75 total points. After dancing the Argentine tango to "Love Runs Out" by One Republic and racking in 36 points, the couple performed a contemporary dance which earned an additional 39 points from the judges. Alfonso is currently in a lot of pain due to a back injury.

Fourth place on the leaderboard went to Sadie and Mark, who earned a total of 74 points for their two dances to "Problem" by Ariana Grande. Their quickstep received 37 points from the judges, and then their Argentine tango was worth another 37 points.

Tommy and Peta finished in fifth -- and last -- place on Monday night's judging leaderboard with 62 total points after performing to "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell. The couple first danced a jazz routine, which received 28 points from the judges. Afterward, they took the stage with a rumba which earned 34 points.

Dancing with the Stars' nineteenth-season finals will begin next Monday night, marking the eleventh week of competition.
