Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough and his fiancee Hayley Erbert have updated fans on Hayley's recovery after the pair got into a snowy and "scary" car accident.

Hayley, who competed on So You Think You Can Dance and also previously danced in the Dancing with the Stars Troupe, revealed she and Derek are "both okay."

Hayley, 28, took to Instagram on Sunday, December 25 and wished fans a "Merry Christmas."

Hayley, who looked happy and healed, wrote, "Christmas kisses.� Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Sending love to all!"

Hayley posted a slideshow of photos in which she was kissing Derek followed by their two cats and dogs, who were all wearing matching festive pajamas.

Hayley was smiling in the photos, and it appears she's had her stitches removed since the December 12 car accident. Fans also noticed that the swelling on the side of her head has also gone down.

"The cut looks healed," wrote one fan.

Another Instagram user commented, "I am so glad you guys are OK after your accident!"

And a third person chimed in, "Glad to see your head looking better."

Over the weekend, Hayley and Derek posted the same video on Instagram that showed Hayley receiving stitches on the side of her face after their car hit a tree and then recovering with a table full of junk food.

"On December 12, Derek and I got into a pretty scary car accident in the mountains. Our accident involved a steep hill, icy roads, a tree, and worst of all, the fear that we would slide off the mountain," Hayley captioned the video.

"Given the circumstances, we have so much to be grateful for. First, that there were no other people involved. Second, the quick response from paramedics. And lastly, that we are both okay and that I only walked away a little banged up, a swollen face, and four stitches above my eyebrow."

Hayley concluded, "Now, more than ever, we realize how fragile life is and how important it is to love those around you. We hope that everyone has a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season."

Derek commented on Hayley's post, "The scariest part was that Hayley doesn't remember anything. She was dazed afterwards, being cheerful saying we should keep going to dinner as blood ran down her face. That really scared me. She came to 20 minutes later when the firemen arrived."

Many people reached out to the couple with well wishes, hoping Hayley would have a speedy recovery.

Derek and Hayley got engaged in June after more than six years of dating.

"It's only the beginning... the beginning of forever," the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post on June 2.

Hayley and Derek met in 2014 when Hayley joined Derek and his sister Julianne Hough on their "Move Live Tour," according to Us Weekly.

Hayley and Derek's work relationship took a romantic turn one year later in 2015.

But Hayley didn't find fame until she competed on So You Think You Can Dance's tenth season as a contemporary dancer and also performed as a member of the Dancing with the Stars troupe beginning in 2016.

Derek previously competed on Dancing with the Stars as a pro partner and won six mirrorball trophies, before serving as a judge on the show.

Derek has won more mirrorball trophies than any other pro on the show.
