Dancing with the Stars eliminated Carlos PenaVega and his professional partner Witney Carson during Monday night's broadcast of the series' 21st season on ABC.

The Big Time Rush singer and Witney became the tenth couple eliminated from the competition based on the combination of the Dancing with the Stars judges' scores and home viewer votes they had received during last week's performance show.

Although the pair danced in the finals, they got eliminated one night shy of the finale episode.

"I thank God for this opportunity because it has been life-changing. My marriage is so much stronger. I made some amazing friends. Most importantly, I learned so much about myself and I had the best partner in the world, so thank you Witney," Carlos said after the results were revealed.

Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter and partner Sharna Burgess were the other couple in jeopardy of elimination prior to Carlos and Witney's elimination. However, Nick and Sharna weren't necessarily one of the bottom-two couples based on the judges' scores and America's votes.

Monday night's DWTS episode featured each couple taking the stage for judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli with an individual routine they previously performed but needed to improve upon as well as the fan-favorite Freestyle Round.

Carlos and Witney went out with a bang because they tied with two other couples for first place on Monday night's judging leaderboard with a perfect score of 60 points from the judges.

Carlos and Witney first danced the foxtrot and received 30 out of 30 points from the judge. They followed it up with a salsa and hip-hop freestyle set to Missy Elliott's "WTF (Where They From?)." The dance showcased previously-eliminated contestants this season and earned an additional 30 out of 30 possible points.

Nick and Sharna initially performed a jive worthy of 30 points. For their 30-point freestyle, the couple danced to the Backstreet Boys' hit "Larger than Life," and the dance had a futuristic feel with a lot of dancers.

Bindi Irwin, the daughter of late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, and partner Derek Hough also tied for first place with a perfect score.

Bindi and Derek first took the stage with a quickstep routine that received 30 points from the judges, followed by their emotional contemporary freestyle that really showcased Bindi's dance skills. The routine concluded with a picture of Bindi kissing her father as a young girl. The "Footsteps in the Sand" freestyle also earned 30 points.

Train hero Alek Skarlatos and partner Lindsay Arnold landed in fourth -- and last -- place on the judges' leaderboard last night with 57 total points.

Alek and Lindsay first performed a rumba that earned 27 points. For their freestyle, Alek and Lindsay performed a powerful, Army-themed routine to "Marching On" complete with walls to climb up and down and many other dancers.

The three remaining Dancing with the Stars finalists will compete for extra judges points via the show's "24 Hour Fusion Round" during Tuesday night's finale broadcast on ABC, at the end of which one winner will be crowned.
