Dancing with the Stars eliminated Lea Thompson and her professional dance partner Artem Chigvintsev during Monday night's live nineteenth-season broadcast on ABC.

The actress and Back to the Future star and Artem became the eighth couple eliminated from the competition based on the combination of the Dancing with the Stars judges' scores they had received during last week's performance show and the home viewer votes that were cast immediately following that episode.

"I just feel really great -- great in my body, I feel strong, and I'm anxious to get back to my day job on Switched At Birth," Lea said following her ouster, referencing the ABC show on which she currently stars. "I love this man [Artem]. He's a new pro here and I think he did a great job with me."

Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson and partner Mark Ballas were the other couple still in danger of elimination prior to Lea and Artem's ouster, however, they were not necessarily one of the bottom-two couples based on the judges' scores and America's votes.

Last week, Lea and Artem finished in fifth place on the judges' leaderboard out of the seven couples that remained, while Sadie and Mark landed in fourth place.

Monday night's Dancing with the Stars broadcast featured six couples each performing an individual routine dubbed "America's Choice" in which home viewers got to choose each pair's style of dance and song in addition to making costume and set suggestions.

The second round of competition was a trio number in which each couple asked a Troupe dancer or previously-eliminated Dancing with the Stars pro to join them for a special three-person routine choreographed to show off each celebrity's strengths.

First place on the judges' leaderboard represented a tie between two couples: Actor and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribeiro and partner Witney Carson as well as actress and Pretty Little Liars star Janel Parrish and partner Val Chmerkovskiy. Both pairs earned 77 total points from Dancing with the Stars judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough, and Bruno Tonioli.

Alfonso and Witney first performed a foxtrot set to "Ain't That a Kick in the Head" by Robbie Williams for "America's Choice" and received 37 out of 40 possible points from the judges. They then followed it up with their trio performance featuring Troupe member Lindsay Arnold, who previously competed on So You Think You Can Dance with Witney. The trio took the stage with a paso doble routine and received a perfect score of 40 out of 40 points.

Janel and Val first danced a 38-point worthy quickstep to "Hey Boy, Hey Girl" by Keely Smith for "America's Choice." The couple was then joined by newbie pro Keo Motsepe and performed a salsa routine which received an additional 39 points from the judges.

YouTube fashionista Bethany Mota and partner Derek Hough finished in third place on Monday night's leaderboard with 74 total points. For "America's Choice," the pair danced a Viennese waltz to "Say You Love Me" by Jessie Ware and earned 36 points from the judges. Their trio performance, an Argentine tango, then featured pro Tony Dovolani and received 38 points from the judging panel.

Fourth place on the leaderboard went to Sadie and Mark with 73 total points. Their first number was a jive to "1,2,3 Turnaround" by Christian TV, which was selected for them by home viewers and earned 33 points. Sadie and Mark then performed with pro Emma Slater, marking the first time in Dancing with the Stars history a female celebrity has ever participated in a trio with a female pro dancer. Although risky, the trio's foxtrot received a perfect score of 40 points from the judges.

Lea and Artem finished in fifth place on Monday night's leaderboard with 70 total points. After taking the stage with a samba routine set to "Animals" by Maroon 5 and earning 34 points for it, the pair danced the paso doble in a trio with Troupe member Henry Byalikov. The threesome received 36 points for the number.

Finally, comedian Tommy Chong and partner Peta Murgatroyd landed in sixth -- and last -- place on the judges' leaderboard with only 57 total points. "America's Choice" for the duo was a Viennese waltz set to "Trouble" by Ray LaMontagne, which received 29 points from the judges. Afterwards, they followed it up with a trio performance featuring pro Sharna Burgess. The threesome danced the samba and earned 28 additional points.
