"I am so proud, but I really cannot take the credit. You know what? It's been all Tristan from the get-go and the whole crew at Dancing with the Stars, my family -- who flew out here to take care of my twins so I could dance -- all of you, and especially you, Tristan," Grace told Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke when asked if she was proud of herself for making it so far in the competition -- just one week shy of the semifinals.
"It's all paid off now. We've had a blast. We'd just like to thank everyone. Thanks for being very welcoming to me and also to Nancy, and we've really, really had a fun time and it's the support that we get from you all that really pushes us to do it. We can't be disappointed to make it this far, and I think from the start, we've always said to each other, 'It's not about being the best. It's just about doing your best.' I think that's what we did and I think that's why we're very happy we're here," MacManus said.
"Not only did I meet a lot of goals, I also became friends with not only the other stars, but with the dancers as well. I also want to thank the viewers who have stuck by me since way back when -- sent homemade gifts to the twins when we were in the hospital, the works -- for voting us through and standing by Tristan and myself this whole time," Grace told Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron when asked if she accomplished the goals she had set for herself on the show.
Grace and MacManus had finished in fifth -- and last -- place on Monday night's judging leaderboard with 44 out of 60 possible points after they danced a tango that received 24 points and an "instant" jive which earned 20 additional points.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians sibling Rob Kardashian and partner Cheryl Burke were the other couple still in danger of elimination prior to Grace and MacManus' ouster, however Burke noted they were not necessarily the other couple in the bottom two based on the combination of the judges' scoring and home viewer votes from Monday night's performance show.
Kardashian and Burke had finished in fourth place on the judges' leaderboard with 51 total points. After dancing a quickstep routine that earned 27 points, the pair returned to the dance floor and performed an "instant" jive that received 24 points from the judges.
Iraqi war veteran and former All My Children soap star J.R. Martinez and partner Karina Smirnoff had topped the judges' leaderboard and finished in first place with a perfect score of 60 total points. They performed a waltz which received 30 points -- the season's first perfect score of three 10's -- from the judges and an "instant" jive that earned 30 additional points.
American women's soccer star Hope Solo and former talk show host Ricki Lake had finished tied for second place on the judges' leaderboard with 52 total points.
Solo and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced a quickstep which received 27 points and followed it with an "instant" jive that earned 25 points. Lake and partner Derek Hough performed a waltz that earned 28 points and an "instant" jive which received 24 additional points from the judges.
