"I had a great time. She was a great teacher," Terrell said following his ouster. "I couldn't have asked for anything more."
"I'm so proud of the dancer you've become but more so the person you've allowed us to see," Cheryl told her partner.
Last week, Terrell and Cheryl had landed towards the bottom of the judges' leaderboard in seventh place out of the eight competing couples at the time.
Actor and race car driver Frankie Muniz and partner Witney Carson were the other couple in jeopardy of elimination prior to Terrell and Cheryl's exit last night; however, they were not necessarily one of the bottom-two couples this week based on the judges' scores and America's votes.
Monday night's November 6 episode featured the six remaining couples each performing an individual routine followed by a special "Trio Dance" routine featuring a former Dancing with the Stars winner or runner-up.
Singer and actor Jordan Fisher and partner Lindsay Arnold topped the leaderboard in first place with a perfect total score of 60 out of 60 possible points from Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli.
Jordan and Lindsay first danced a 30-point worthy quickstep routine and then performed a sexy trio salsa dance with Season 17 runner-up Corbin Bleu, which also received 30 points from the judging panel.
Internationally-recognized violinist Lindsey Stirling and partner Mark Ballas finished the night in second place on the judges' leaderboard with a total of 54 points.
After performing a samba that earned 26 points from the judges, Lindsey and Mark danced a trio jazz routine with Season 6 winner Kristi Yamaguchi that received 28 points.
Third place on the leaderboard went to Frankie and Witney with an overall score of 53 points.
Frankie and Witney initially took the stage with a Viennese waltz that received 26 points from the judges. The pair then followed that up with a jive routine featuring Season 19 winner Alfonso Ribeiro that earned 27 points.

Terrell and Cheryl claimed fourth place on the judges' leaderboard last night with 51 total points.
After dancing a 27-point worthy Charleston routine, Terrell and his partner were joined by Season 1 winner Kelly Monaco -- who also happens to be one of Cheryl's best friends -- for a rumba routine. The trio rumba received 24 points from the judges.
Fifth place on the judges' leaderboard belonged to ESPN personality and former Paralympic swimmer Victoria Arlen and partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
The couple scored a total of 48 points -- which included 24 points for their individual Argentine tango and an additional 24 points for Victoria and Val's trio jive routine featuring Season 23 winner Laurie Hernandez.
Victoria was able to perform despite suffering a painful spasm on the right side of her body during the night's dress rehearsal.
And finally, Property Brothers star Drew Scott and partner Emma Slater landed in sixth -- and last -- place on the leaderboard with a total of 47 points.
Drew and Emma first danced a waltz that received only 22 points from the judges. Afterward, they performed a trio cha cha routine alongside Season 24 winner Rashad Jennings that earned 25 points from the judging panel.
Dancing with the Stars' next episode will air during semifinals week of the competition on November 13.
