"When you see me crying at 11:59PM on NYE don't think it's because I'm sad," Cheryl, 38, captioned a TikTok video on Wednesday, December 28, which she reposted on Instagram Stories.
"It's because I f--king MADE IT through the year that did everything it could to try and break me, and there were a lot of moments when I thought I would but here I AM."

"Ready to move forward, to no longer be defined by my past," Cheryl continued in the caption, "and SO ready to start the next chapter of my life. 2023, LET'S SHOW'EM HOW IT'S DONE!"

Cheryl reportedly cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for her split from the 42-year-old actor, and she listed January 7 as their date of separation.
The divorce papers also revealed Cheryl and Matthew had a prenuptial agreement in place.
"I know I have always said I'm an open book with you guys, I do strive to be, and in writing this I've realized there really isn't an easy way to announce that my marriage is ending," Cheryl wrote on Instagram in February.
"I hope you can understand that I will not be commenting any further at this time and am asking for understanding and privacy. Thank you all for all the kind words and support you've given me."

Cheryl filed for divorce in the same month she had publicly announced the pair's split.
"I need to believe and love myself enough to really know that I deserve a good guy," Cheryl told Us in May about dating again.
"This is just untraining my brain. I need to not be like, 'Why do I attract certain men?' Versus, like, 'Why do certain men disgust me?' It's being proactive in trying to stay present and conscious and know my self-worth. And a lot of that is still in the works."
Cheryl and Matthew's divorce was finalized in September, but the former couple's legal proceedings are still ongoing and will continue into the New Year.
"It is still not over because we have to go to trial [over our dog] -- unless he all of a sudden calls it off -- but that will happen in January," Cheryl reportedly revealed on her "Burke in the Game" podcast in October.

"I am still really hurt by the whole situation because that is my dog. Ysabella is my daughter; I am a dog mom. I couldn't even imagine my life without her. I could just cry right now."
Cheryl and the Boy Meets World and Brotherly Love alum met in 2006 through his brother, actor Joey Lawrence, who competed on Season 3 of Dancing with the Stars.
The pair reportedly began dating in February 2007 and stayed together for about a year before calling it quits on their relationship in February 2008.
Cheryl and Matthew reconciled nearly a decade later in February 2017. In September of that year, Cheryl admitted to People she regretted letting her romance with Matthew end.

"When we first dated, we were both young and immature, and I was so new to this world," she revealed of why the relationship didn't work the first time around.
"Now we are both adults and feel balanced. He's such a great guy. He's so normal, considering we're in this crazy business," Cheryl continued of Matthew. "It's so nice to be able to come home to him... He's someone I definitely do see spending the rest of my life with."
Cheryl accepted a marriage proposal and got engaged to Matthew in early May 2018 while the couple was celebrating Cheryl's 34th birthday.
"OMG! So far so good for 34! #amilliontimesyes #imengaged#herecomesthebride," Cheryl captioned an Instagram picture of the pair at sunset in Laguna Beach, CA, at the time.
The dancer and choreographer went on to marry Matthew on May 23, 2019.
More than a year after their wedding, Cheryl shared on Good Morning America how she was two years sober and Matthew was her "rock" in life.

Cheryl announced she's retiring from Dancing with the Stars in November, prior to the Disney+ series' Season 31 finale.
Cheryl reportedly told Page Six that leaving Dancing with the Stars was easier than her divorce, noting, "[It's been] so hard. This is like another type of divorce, but an amicable one."
Cheryl joined Dancing with the Stars all the way back in Season 2 and has won two mirrorball trophies since. The brunette beauty has graced the ballroom almost every season since she began, with the exception of five seasons to pursue other career interests.
Over the years, Cheryl has placed second on Dancing with the Stars twice and finished in third place a total of four times.
