Dancing with the Stars' Maksim Chmerkovskiy has expressed romantic interest in Meryl Davis, his celebrity partner this season.

"So, I love you and I would love to marry you, but I need to know if you and Charlie [White] are dating first," Chmerkovskiy said in a clip released by ABC, according to People.
Davis reportedly laughed at the comment and then said of her longtime ice dancing partner, "No, we're not. We're definitely not."
"Good," the single Chmerkovskiy reportedly responded.
Davis, a 27-year-old Sochi Olympics ice dancing gold medalist, will be competing against White -- who is paired up with pro dancer Sharna Burgess -- for once during Dancing with the Stars' upcoming eighteenth season, which premieres Monday night at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

Chmerkovskiy, a 34-year-old pro dancer, reportedly bragged about Davis' potential and athleticism. He apparently can't wait to work and perform with her this season.
"I'm having a blast with her," he told People.
"I noticed that I'm not nervous and I'm not stressing out, like I usually would be. I've got somebody who is at the top of their game -- not a retired athlete with aches and pains and certain physical issues. She is in great shape. She's in great spirits. I got somebody who doesn't need to prove herself to anyone."
The "bad boy of the ballroom" also noted he likes how down-to-earth Davis is.
"[She is] a normal person. She is so funny, friendly, hard working and physically capable. She's not dramatic. She's not 'too Hollywood.' I don't have to tolerate her every rehearsal. I like working with her. I don't have to suck it up like, 'Maks -- this is the job. Do your job.' I am just enjoying the time I spend with her," Chmerkovskiy explained.

The only thing that seemingly won't come easy to Chmerkovskiy this season is his rehearsal schedule with the busy Davis -- whom, with White, will be simultaneously performing in the show Stars on Ice as Dancing with the Stars is taping.
"We'll be on the road and I will be literally training her in between their shows and then flying back to L.A. every Sunday night for Monday's show and probably flying out on Tuesday mornings to wherever the next show stop is," Chmerkovskiy explained.
