"I have some news to share with you guys because I keep getting so many DMs about it. After long conversations and lots of thinking and really trying to sit with what was right... I have made the really hard decision to not to do the season this year of Dancing with the Stars," Sharna, 37, revealed Wednesday in her Instagram Stories.
The pro dancer and choreographer continued in the video, "There has been a list that was released saying that I would be a pro and I won't be."
Sharna welcomed her first child, a son Zane, in June 2022. She and boyfriend Brian Austin Green, who previously competed on Dancing with the Stars' 30th season as a celebrity actor, began dating in Spring 2020.
While Sharna won't be competing as a pro next season, she confirmed, "I will be there in some capacity. We're still talking about that."
Sharna confirmed that she is "at 100 percent capacity" with her body after having a baby and feels "fit and strong."
"I am so ready to dance. I'm about to go into the gym right now. We're going to talk about... how I can be a part of [Dancing with the Stars]. But I was not ready to spend, at minimum, 10 hours a day away from Zane," Sharna shared with her followers.
Sharna said there is prep time, travel time, and hair and makeup time all required by Dancing with the Stars, not just time practicing and performing in the ballroom.

"[It]'s Sundays and Mondays and full days away. I'm a full-time breastfeeding mama," Sharna noted.
"And not only that, I just am so in love with being a mom. And as much as it was hard to say 'no' to Dancing -- because I love everything I know about this season coming up... I love the cast and I love the show, it's my home. But I have this family and this newborn at home that I may never get these moments back [with]."

Sharna said it's important to watch her son grow and bond with him because she had been "waiting" to be a mother "for so long."
"So I'm going to stay in that moment and live and love every single bit of it," she said.
"But it does not mean that I will not be around. We are going to figure that out in whatever capacity that means. So you will see me, but it will just be in a different way!"
Sharna said she'll be cheering her friends on and is "so excited" about all the things to come on the new season.
"It's so magical!" Sharna gushed.
But going back to her post-baby body, Sharna explained, "I feel 100 percent. I'm trying to have as much grace with my body as far as esthetically having it go back. I have to have patience and I'm learning that. I am human and have definitely had days of body insecurity."
Sharna apparently plans to "get into shape" again and check in with her fans along the way.
Sharna later clarified in her Instagram Stories how she "did not quit" Dancing with the Stars and she just won't be participating in Season 31.

Dancing with the Stars 30 marked Sharna's fourteenth season on the show as a pro partner. She won the mirrorball trophy one time with celebrity partner Bobby Bones back on Season 27 in 2018.
Dancing with the Stars' lineup of celebrities and their professional partners for Season 31 this Fall will be announced at a later date.
Disney+ revealed in a teaser clip last month that Witney, Cheryl Burke, Artem Chigvintsev, Brandon Armstrong, Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov will be among the pro partners.

Dancing with the Stars will continue to be hosted by Tyra Banks, but DWTS alum and actor Alfonso Ribeiro will be joining her as a co-host.
Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, and Carrie Ann Inaba will be sitting on the judging panel next season.
