Dancing with the Stars pro Sharna Burgess has laser focus on getting her celebrity partner, James Hinchcliffe, to the finals whether she's dancing beside him or not.

"Even though he and I are a team, this is about James. This is me wanting to get James to the finals, so he can win," Burgess, who has been trying to overcome a knee injury, told Entertainment Tonight.

Burgess had to sit out the last two performance shows after extensive therapy and medical treatments on her leg, however, Hinchcliffe danced two nearly-perfect routines with pro Jenna Johnson.

"If the best decision was for me to step out for a couple of weeks so he could have someone that could be a strong partner for him, then that's what needed to happen," Burgess explained.

Burgess made her DWTS debut as a pro on Season 16. Other than two twelfth-place finishes, Burgess has landed in second, third, fourth and fifth place with her celebrity partners, so she's definitely due for a win!

Many fans have been telling Burgess her chance of winning the mirrorball trophy with the pro race car driver is very high this season. Even DWTS judge Julianne Hough had told Hinchcliffe he's the best male contestant the show has ever had. 

"It definitely makes me feel very special and loved and appreciated, which is amazing," Burgess told ET.

"Hopefully this will be the one, and James is certainly the right one to do it... [He] is incredibly, refreshingly normal. No one expected him to come on the show and excel in it, let alone the charisma, the personality -- he's so down to earth and humble."

Burgess said the experience of watching him learn and take on characters is "charming."

"I think you can really see how much he wants it," said Burgess, who anticipates dancing in next week's episode.

"I would probably cry [if we win]. Let's be real, if James and I end up taking this home, I do think I'm going to end up being very emotional about it. It's been a very intense season, especially not knowing if I could come back."

Burgess laughed about how she'd put the trophy right in the middle of her living room "so everyone can see it."

Since Johnson has been filling in for Burgess due to her injury, the brunette beauty said she hopes they each would receive a mirrorball trophy if Hinchcliffe wins.

"Certainly James and I are partners on the show -- I still teach him, choreograph for him, it's still me with him, it's just that Jenna [has been] my body dancing for me, basically," Burgess said.

"You can't deny that Jenna has been a very big part of our whole [journey.] I would kind of hope that all three of us would get one [in that case]."

Burgess revealed she has "no real plan" going forward other than creating "really great routines" for Hinchcliffe that will allow him to be his best self in the ballroom.

"I think that James improves so much week to week because he lets me push him," she noted.
