This fall's Dancing with the Stars competition may have been Julianne Hough's last.

The newly-ousted 20-year-old dancer-turned-singer has announced that she won't be competing in next spring's eighth Dancing with the Stars edition and isn't sure if she'll return for next fall's ninth edition.

"I won't be on [Dancing with the Stars] this spring season," Hough wrote on her Fancast blog Wednesday evening. "I don't know about the fall. Maybe, maybe not. We'll see."

Hough said she will be using her time away from the show to concentrate on her musical career. 

"Julianne Hough," her debut album, was released in May.  It sold 67,000 copies in its first week of release and debuted at No. 3 on Billboard's The Billboard 200 chart and at No. 1 on Billboard's country chart, which made it the highest country debut for any new artist since 2006.

"I'm definitely going to focus on the music," she wrote. "My first album was a learning experience, and I can't wait for the next one. I feel like the writing and producing will be even better, really awesome."

Hough said she will be returning to her home in Nashville, TN after presenting at Sunday's American Music Awards and watching her brother Derek Hough perform with former Rock Star host Brooke Burke in next week's Dancing with the Stars season finale.

She also urged viewers that had been voting for she and her partner, Hannah Montana actor Cody Linley, to help her brother and Burke take home the seventh-season's mirror ball trophy.

"I want everyone who voted for Cody and me -- first, thank you very much -- but start voting for Brooke and Derek!" she wrote.

"From day one, they've been awesome. I think Brooke is the most technically sound of the celebrities and she's a beautiful dancer," she added.

Hough also reiterated that, while they were disappointed about their elimination from the competition, she and Linley had come to terms with their dismissal and remained positive about her time together on the show's seventh-season.

"Don't be sad. Someone has to leave; too bad it was us, but it's the name of the game. Cody and I hoped for the best and expected the worst. We definitely got the worst. We're okay with it, though," Hough wrote. "[Linley] came such a long way since the beginning, and I'm so proud of him. When I first me him, I thought he was going to be this young, immature kid, but as I've gotten to know him, I've realized that he's a deep, loving young man."

Hough also revealed a glimpse into her holiday plans, as well as what she hoped to accomplish in 2009.

"I'm spending Thanksgiving with my family in Las Vegas. I'm doing the run of Christmas shows," she wrote. "[I'm] getting ready for next year. There are two really great tours coming up. I'm 99.9% sure I'll be on one of them."
