Kim and her pro partner Sasha Farber was sent home along with Von Miller and his pro partner Witney Carson after both couples received the lowest combined total of judges' scores and home viewer votes cast following last week's performance show. Both pairs tended to land in the middle of the judges' leaderboard every week of the Season 22 competition.

When Kim was asked whether she predicted her ouster, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star said in her final words, "Not not at all. I didn't see this coming at all, but I'm very grateful for the opportunity. It's been a blessing to be here and be a part of such an amazing family. [Sasha], you have given me so much... Thank you to all of you."

Meanwhile, the NFL player and Super Bowl MVP said following his ouster, "It's been so much fun. It's all great dancers here. It's pretty tough. The competition is very, very tough... Witney and I have a very special relationship and it's been great."

The other couple who was in jeopardy of elimination happened to be Boyz II Men member Wanya Morris and partner Lindsay Arnold, however, host Tom Bergeron did not say they were necessarily in the bottom three.

Monday night's DWTS broadcast featured eight celebrity and professional pairings each performing a dance inspired by a music icon as well as a "Team Dance" that turned out to be a battle of the sexes -- female celebrities and their partners vs. male celebrities and their partners.

America's Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco and partner Peta Murgatroyd topped the judges' leaderboard in first place with a total of 56 points from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman. They received 28 out of 30 points for a foxtrot which paid tribute to the band U2 and then an additional 28 out of 30 points for their male "Team JAmes Brown" performance.

Two couples tied for second place on the judges' leaderboard with 55 total points: UFC fighter Paige VanZant and partner Mark Ballas as well as Good Morning America meteorologist Ginger Zee and partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

Both pairs earned perfect scores of 30 points for their individual routines. Paige and Mark danced a jive paying tribute to Tina Turner, while Ginger and Val took the stage with a Whitney Houston-inspired Viennese waltz. Only 25 points were added onto each girl's original score thanks to their female "Team Beyonce" performance.

Four couples tied for fourth place with a total of 52 points.

Kim and Sasha first danced a samba to a Jackson 5 hit which received 27 points from the judges. They followed it up with the "Team Beyonce" dance that added 25 points.

NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown and partner Sharna Burgess racked in 24 points for a tango set to The Rolling Stones music. Afterward, Antonio received an extra 28 points for "Team JAmes Brown."

Lindsay and Wanya took the stage with a foxtrot paying tribute to Aretha Franklin. Wanya later got 28 additional points for the team dance.
