Dancing with the Stars crowned Bobby Bones and his professional partner Sharna Burgess the champions of Season 27 during Monday night's two-hour live finale on ABC.

In a shocking result, Sharna and Bobby were declared Dancing with the Stars' winners based on the combination of home viewer votes that poured in from the eastern and central time zones during the live broadcast, votes from last Monday night's semifinals performance show, and the judges' scores from the finale.

Bobby and Sharna won the mirrorball trophy despite receiving the lowest cumulative scores of all four Season 27 finalists from Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman this season.
Bobby, a country music radio personality, cried tears of joy once Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron announced his victory.

"Thank you to the people and thank you to Sharna who made all of this possible," Bobby, whom Tom called "the people's champion," said in his final words.
Although Bobby wasn't the best technical dancer on the show, he definitely didn't lack charisma and spirit.
This marked Sharna's first Dancing with the Stars win since she joined the show as a professional partner back in Season 16. Sharna had been patiently waiting for her moment in the sun, with three second-place finishes under her belt.
Tom and his Dancing with the Stars co-host, Erin Andrews, surprisingly did not reveal which pairs finished Season 27 in second, third or fourth place.

The finale episode of Dancing with the Stars featured the four remaining couples each taking the stage with two dances -- an enhanced version of a memorable routine from this season and the highly-anticipated freestyle.
As in past seasons, the freestyle routines highlight each celebrity's strengths, preferences and personality, and there are no rules.
Two couples topped the judges' leaderboard and tied for first place with 60 judges' points apiece in the finals: Singer and dancer Milo Manheim and partner Witney Carson as well as actress and Harry Potter star Evanna Lynch and partner Keo Motsepe.
For Round 1, Milo and Witney reprised their Week 2 Charleston dance, and they received 30 judges' points. And Milo and Witney's 30-point worthy freestyle was full of tricks, water and props -- including umbrellas.
"I don't think we've ever had a freestyle with that much content... you are the man! You are the best!" Carrie Ann said.

"You are not just an outstanding talent; you're a star," Bruno gushed.

Keo -- who competed in the finals for the first time in his Dancing with the Stars career this season -- and Evanna also claimed a total perfect score in the finals with 60 points.
After improving upon a tango routine the couple had performed on "Halloween Night," Evanna and Keo impressed with a fun and flirty freestyle that focused on Evanna's femininity and charm.
"This is the cherry on the cake," Len said of the freestyle that earned 30 points. "It showed every part of your dancing off beautifully. And Keo, congratulations."

Model Alexis Ren and partner Alan Bersten placed third on the leaderboard for the finals with a total of 57 points from the judges.
For the first round of competition, Alexis and Alan performed their Swan Lake-inspired Argentine tango from Week 2 and received 27 points.
And for their freestyle, Alexis climbed over faux mountains to show off her newfound confidence and executed a mix of dance styles with her "love," Alan. The couple received a perfect score of 30 points for their freestyle.
"It's the best dancing I've ever seen from you and you peaked at the exact right time," Carrie Ann told Alexis.

And finally, Bobby and Sharna landed in fourth -- and last -- place on the judges' leaderboard with a total of 54 points.
Sharna and Bobby initially gave an encore performance of their cha cha from "Trio Night" in which Bobby dressed up as MC Hammer and earned 24 points.
Sharna and Bobby then danced their freestyle inspired by the circus and The Greatest Showman. Their freestyle received a perfect score of 30 points from the judges, and Bruno called the routine "spectacular" and "delicious."
