David Arquette: I didn't think I could actually win 'Dancing with the Stars'

David Arquette says he never actually felt he could win Dancing with the Stars with professional partner Kym Johnson, but she felt otherwise.


"When I started with David, he was just amazing and I thought we could win this thing," Johnson said during a Tuesday night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live with Arquette.

"I didn't," Arquette interjected.

The actor and Johnson -- who were eliminated during last night's live results show on ABC after they performed an individual routine to a Halloween-themed song and an additional "team dance" during Monday night's performance show -- told Kimmel they feel their low-scored "Team Tango" routine with J.R. Martinez and Nancy Grace was responsible for their downfall in the competition.  

"The team dance hurt us for sure. That's what pulled us down," Johnson said while Arquette nodded his head next to her. 


Now that Johnson and Arquette have been eliminated from Dancing with the Stars, they are both rooting for Martinez, an Iraqi war veteran and former All My Children Soap star, to win the competition's mirror ball trophy.

"I think it's going to be a tough battle, but I think J.R. and [partner Karina Smirnoff] are going to pull this one out," Johnson said in an additional interview with Good Morning America on Wednesday morning.

"That's who I'm voting for, [he's] an American hero," Arquette added.

"They're doing a great job, they're doing so well. Obviously [Ricki Lake] and [partner Derek Hough] are doing great too, and [Rob Kardashian] has really done a great job with [Cheryl Burke] -- but yeah, it's going to be a tough battle I'd say. But yeah, J.R. and Karina are doing great," Johnson continued.

"[J.R.'s] the greatest, he was really cool, and he's an American hero," Arquette said.
