"Congratulations Dee, your work was 'shear genius,'" Shear Genius host Jaclyn Smith said as she revealed Dee, a 37-year-old from San Antonio, TX who currently resides in Miami, FL, had defeated Charlie Price, a 38-year-old from Denver, CO, and been selected as the hairstyling competition's second-season winner.
"Oh my god, yes," Dee exclaimed as she jumped around the Shear Genius salon set. "This is crazy, this is crazy, this is crazy. This is for my momma, she totally always believed in me... thank you, thank you all, thank you, thank you."
As Shear Genius' second-season winner, Dee will receive a $100,000 grand prize from Nexxus, an internship with the salon care company, and the opportunity to style hair for an Allure magazine feature.
"To be called 'shear genius' and have the honor of being recognized for my talents is just an amazing feeling, I couldn't ask for anything more," a more composed Dee stated after her win. "To win $100,000 -- I am floating on Cloud Nine right now."

Shear Genius' pre-taped second-season finale began with three finalists -- Dee, Charlie, and Nicole Obert, a 25-year-old from New York, NY -- still in the running to be crowned the season's champion. After meeting with Allure editor-in-chief Linda Wells and receiving some advice about styles they'd created during the competition's previous challenges, the finalists learned that their final challenge would require them to make up a life story for a fictional 60-year-old woman and then create four hairstyles she would have worn at ages 18, 30, 45, and 60. The finalists would have only three hours to cut, color and style all four hairstyles.
Each finalist was given four hair models -- one of whom represented each of the four target ages -- to work with. Dee worked with four redheads, while Charlie worked with four blondes and Nicole worked with four brunettes.
All three finalists struggled to complete four styles within the three hour period, however Nicole seemed to struggle the most. During her presentation to the judges, Nicole admitted she hadn't had time to finish her 60-year-old model's hairstyle.
After the finalists presented their styles to the judges, Nicole was eliminated, leaving only Dee and Charlie in the running to be revealed as Shear Genius' second-season champion.
