Mark Ballas and Derek Hough have formally found a home for their music, as Hollywood Records has officially announced it's signed the Dancing with the Stars professionals' band to a recording deal and will release the group's debut album early next year.

In addition to Ballas and Hough on vocals and guitar, the band's line-up features Emily Grace on keyboards and vocals, Sam Marder on bass and Harry Sullivan on drums.
Julianne Hough -- Hough's sister and fellow Dancing with the Stars professional who released her own debut album earlier this year -- had previously revealed her brother had signed with Hollywood Records in an October blog posting.
The band formed in 2005 under the name Almost Amy before recently changing its moniker to the Ballas Hough Band -- presumably to capitalize on the Dancing with the Stars success of its two most notable members.
Ballas captured Dancing with the Stars sixth-season title last spring with celebrity partner Kristi Yamaguchi, while Hough won the show's recently concluded seventh edition with partner Brooke Burke.
Both Ballas and Hough will participate in the upcoming Dancing with the Stars - The Tour while also performing with their band at select clubs throughout the tour. The Ballas Hough Band will then embark on a Summer 2009 tour immediately following Dancing with the Stars eighth season, which is currently slated to premiere March 9.
Signing Hough and Ballas isn't the first involvement Hollywood Records has had with members of a dance-themed ABC reality series.
After winning ABC's Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann reality series earlier this year, Team Bruno members Kelsey Bourg, Phillip Bernier, Lacey Mason and Zack Wilson were originally supposed to receive the grand prize of a Hollywood Records recording contract.
While Team Bruno did record three singles that were released by iTunes following the show's February finale, little else came from their victory.
"I don't think Hollywood Records has any plans to record anything else," Wilson said in May. "It's a little disappointing."
