The Real World/Road Rules Challenge participant, who chronicled her battle with the disease in a blog with the hope of helping others suffering from an illness, died at 10:22AM on Friday in New York City, People reported.

"I want people to know that the fight is worth it," Brown, who passed away with many friends and family surrounding her, told People last month. "And that's something that's so important for me."

In October, Brown revealed the devastating news that cancer found in her stomach and colon in August had spread to her liver and lymph nodes.

"That was a shocker to me," she reportedly said at the time. "I was blown away. It really crushed a little bit of my spirit."

However, Brown had been very determined to beat the disease and remained optimistic throughout her struggle, trying to live every day to the fullest.

Brown reportedly wished to get more out of her time on earth by achieving the long-term American dream -- marriage, two or more kids and a white-picket fence. She believed she was going to make it.

Brown was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer when she was 23-years-old but beat it, according to People. She then relapsed in 2012, ultimately defeating her cancer for a second time.

While convinced she was in the clear and on her way to making a full recovery, in late August, Brown collapsed from "crippling stomach pains" while filming a new reality competition. She soon reportedly learned the cancer had come back -- and this time, it was in her stomach lining and colon.

Brown then underwent two surgeries, including a heartbreaking hysterectomy, and experienced major "terrifying" setbacks in September such as losing her hair and a near-death experience.

"No matter what it is, you're going to have the bad days, but if you have hope throughout, you won, no matter what the results," she told the magazine in October. "Life is so beautiful."
