DIY Network says it has ordered a second season of its U.S. home-makeover series "The Vanilla Ice Project."

The first season of the 10-episode series follows the former rapper as he attempts to renovate a six-bedroom, five-bathroom, 7,000 square-foot lakefront home in Florida.
"Rob's home-improvement knowledge has been an unexpected surprise for many of our viewers," Andy Singer, DIY Network's general manager, said in a statement Tuesday.
"He not only has skills important to DIY Network, Rob resonates with our audience. We are thrilled to continue working with him."
Best-known for his chart-topping hit "Ice Ice Baby," Van Winkle turned his focus on a new hobby, buying land and flipping houses after his hip-hop career stalled. He's renovated old homes and foreclosures and taught himself the basics through hands-on experience and a lot of research, DIY noted in the release.The Season 1 finale of "The Vanilla Ice Project" is to air on the network Dec.16.
