New York businessman and "The Apprentice" star Donald Trump has threatened to sue Rosie O'Donnell after she criticized him sharply on "The View."
O'Donnell said Wednesday that she "didn't enjoy" the real estate mogul, and claimed he went bankrupt, People Magazine reported Thursday. O'Donnell's comments followed Trump's statement that he would not fire Miss USA Tara Conner over allegations of drug and alcohol abuse.
"You can't make false statements," Trump said about O'Donnell's claim that he was bankrupt. "Rosie will rue the words she said. I'll most likely sue her for making those false statements -- and it'll be fun. Rosie's a loser. A real loser. I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie."
The executive producers of "The View," Bill Geddie and Barbara Walters, released a statement Wednesday afternoon -- without taking sides.
"Both Rosie and Donald are high-spirited, opinionated people. Donald has been a friend of 'The View' for many years and Rosie, of course, is our enormously popular moderator. We cherish them both and hope the New Year brings calm and peace."
