U.S. addiction specialist and television personality Dr. Drew Pinsky revealed to People.com Tuesday he had surgery during the summer to treat prostate cancer.

Pinsky, 55, returned to work 10 days after his operation in July and has since made a complete recovery, People.com said.
"I'm cancer-free," Pinsky said. "The erectile function is normal, sex drive is normal, bladder works normally. And I don't have to worry about prostate cancer."
Pinsky is the former host of the reality shows "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" and "Rehab with Dr. Drew."
