Robertson will reportedly be giving up his job as a full-time pastor to work for the family duck call manufacturing business "Beards and Beauty Wrangler" for which he'll be doing public relations and speaking tours.
Robertson, who had intentionally avoided fame leading up to this point, is the son of Phil Robertson and Kay Robertson and the eldest of his three brothers Willie, Jase and Jep, according to The Post. He reportedly hasn't grow a beard like his relatives in order to blend in with his small town in Louisiana.
"The beards are so iconic," said Alan, who only grows out his facial hair during hunting season. "All this time I've been flying under the radar; I can go to Starbucks and get Mama coffee."
Added Phil, "That is about to change."
Alan has been married to his wife Lisa for almost 29 years with whom he had two daughters named Anna and Alex -- who may be phased into the show down the road -- and two granddaughters. Alan apparently worries how appearing on the show may affect his family.
"My children are grown, but all of my brothers' children are teenagers now, so how is this crazy world going to impact them?" Alan, who has 12 nieces and nephews told The Post. "We think about John Luke and Sadie, who are such a big part of the show and they're teenagers, you know? They need to be just normal teenagers. We pray about that."
However, a major positive Alan sees in becoming a cast member on Duck Dynasty is that he'll be afforded the opportunity to share his faith with a larger audience.
"What I do for our church -- you see, it's a pretty good-sized church -- impacts a lot of people, but because of my association with the show, I'll get to minister to a lot more people," he explained. "Any person that's an evangelist, that's what you want to do, so I had to give this up for something possibly bigger."
