The singer and songwriter presented Brighton with a 3.01 carat diamond ring that's an heirloom in her family, according to Us. Reed popped the question on a bridge in Central Park while the sun was setting.
The couple reportedly designed the diamond-shaped ring in Nashville, TN, but Brighton saw the finished product for the first time when Reed proposed and slid it onto her finger.
Reed posted a photo of himself down on bended knee, showing the proposal from his perspective looking up at Brighton, who covered her mouth with her hands in joy and shock.
"I couldn't be more excited to marry this amazing woman. My fiance is a babe in every way," Reed captioned the image on Wednesday.
