Duck Dynasty, a reality series which follows a family business that makes duck call equipment for hunters, has shot down A&E's ratings records.

Duck Dynasty's one-hour second-season finale, which aired Wednesday night at 10PM ET/PT, drew ratings that rank it as A&E's most-watched series telecast of all time.
According to the network, a total of 6.5 million viewers tuned into watch the finale broadcast. In addition, it also drew 3.9 million adults in the age 18-49 demographic, 3.8 million in the age 25-54 demographic and 2 million in the age 18-34 demographic. All three demographic numbers are also the best in A&E ratings history.
In addition, Duck Dynasty -- which will premiere its third season in early 2013 -- was also the top primetime show among the Adults 18-34 and 18-49 demographics on all of television on Wednesday night, finishing ahead of broadcast network competition that included Survivor and The X Factor.
"Duck Dynasty represents the best of A&E's unique brand of storytelling, showcasing authentic and engaging characters," said A&E president Bob DeBitetto. "It's extremely gratifying to see more and more viewers flocking to the series week after week."
