"We got engaged today at the zoo at my daughters first birthday! Charles proposed in front of all our friends and family asked Holland's permission," Erica told E! News.
"He didn't want to take attention away from Holland but wanted all of our family and friends to be there so he took me outside and did it, and then we came back in and did her birthday cake and put a baby diamond ring on there for her."
Erica added, "He is so amazing with Holland and it meant so much to me that he asked her permission to marry me too and presented her with her own tiny diamond ring."
Charles, however, presented Erica with a very large pear-shaped diamond.
On Instagram, Erica shared a sweet photo of her immediate family, writing, "Of course @hollandrosegentry and I said yes!!. So happy to be engaged to the man of my dreams who is so kind to the baby of my dreams. #engaged #fiance #bridetobe #Cherica."
Charles, an independent insurance adjuster for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, is not the biological father of Holland.
Erica welcomed her baby girl into the world with ex-boyfriend Galen Gentry in September 2016.
Erica and Galen began dating in November 2015, and she revealed she was expecting her first child with the lawyer in February 2016.
Although Erica and Galen never officially got engaged, she revealed at the time of her pregnancy announcement that a wedding was in the works for shortly after the baby's arrival.
"Holland and I moved back to Houston in November and Galen is still in the picture as her father, but we are no longer together," Erica told E! News of her former relationship, before disclosing when she got romantically involved with her future husband.
"Charles and I have known each other since high school. He moved back to Houston from Miami around the same time [I did]. We ran into each other at one of our family's charity events for a Kentucky derby party and we literally have been inseparable since."

Erica said that since her first date with Charles, they never spent a night apart.
"It feels so good to find true love, especially with someone I've known half my life but never thought about that way," Erica gushed.
Erica initially vied for the affection of Lorenzo Borghese on The Bachelor's ninth season. She then competed on the second and third editions of Bachelor Pad and later appeared on VH1's You're Cut Off! reality series.
