The Amazing Race eliminated Allison "Ally" Mello and Ashley Covert during Sunday night's ninth broadcast of the CBS reality competition's 23rd season.

The "LA Kings Ice Crew Girls" became the seventh team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they arrived at the Race's ninth Pit Stop at the Bosscha Observatory, home to Indonesia's oldest astronomical telescope located more than 4,300 feet above sea level, in last place.

The girls made a couple mistakes during one of the Detour tasks, which ultimately cost them the Race and the $1 million prize.

In an exclusive interview with Reality TV World on Monday, Ally and Ashley talked about their The Amazing Race experience. Below is the concluding portion of their interview. Click here to read the first half. 

Reality TV World: During that "For the Elephants" Detour task, it looked like you girls went to the zoo first, realized you were supposed to go to the market right away, and then went to market. Then, you dropped off most of your fruit back at the zoo only to return to the market for a second trip to collect your sugarcane and drive that over. Do I have that right?

Ashley Covert: Yeah, we actually went back to -- we had a taxi that we originally took to the zoo that we left our backpacks in, and then when we found the front of the zoo, we got into a different taxi. So after we dropped the fruit off, Ally and I ran back to our original taxi that we took to the zoo.

And low and behold, of course, that taxi driver was perfectly fine with us putting the sugarcane in his car. So I mean, at the end of the day, it was just kind of like, "Oh we should've just taken the first taxi from the beginning."

Reality TV World: So why did you decide against waiting at the market for a taxi that would be willing to take all your fruit and sugarcane at the same time rather than you making two trips and bringing half the stuff at a time? Did you consider that or were you afraid to waste time standing there at the market just waiting?

Ashley Covert: We really couldn't even find any taxis half the time.

Allison "Ally" Mello: Yeah, it was just a mistake I guess.

Reality TV World: When you girls were clearly struggling to gather all your food at the market, it looked like Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran ran into you girls but didn't stop to help you -- which seemed a little out of character for them considering your relationship with them. Did that surprise you or did you feel like there was nothing more they could've done to improve the situation anyway?

Ashley Covert: They actually stopped and helped us! They were the reason why we were able to transport our fruit. They gave us their scarves and they showed us how to wrap it up correctly, and they showed us to go down slow and told us there were so many potholes. So I mean, we actually owe a lot to them for helping us.

Allison "Ally" Mello: We never wanted our alliance to literally stop and help us with a task that is ours to do, unlike [Nicole Jasper and Travis Jasper]. 

Ashley Covert: Yeah. We would never ask that, but they were nice enough to be able to lend us a scarf, and you know, they were quickly just like, "Here, do this! And this is what you need to do." And then they were out, so I mean, it wasn't like how [Amy Diaz] legitimately stopped and helped Nicole and Travis.

Reality TV World: On the subject of Nicole, do you think her decision to try to copy Leo's instrument was appropriate considering it's a race for $1 million or do you think she kind of crossed the line of what's considered ethical and/or acceptable on the show?

Allison "Ally" Mello: I think it's completely unacceptable. I think, well as a rule, we weren't supposed to go in the judging zone. So she broke that rule, and she followed him around trying to see his pattern, and to me, that's cheating. So I don't think it's acceptable, and then to still be clueless and have your alliance completely do the Roadblock for you, it's a little much. I don't think it was fair.

Reality TV World: If you girls chose to do the "For the Birds" task right off the bat, assuming everything would go smoothly for you, it sounds like you probably would've at least beaten Nicole and Travis to the Pit Stop since you said you were racing close behind them at the end there. Why did you originally decide to do the elephant task to begin with?

Ashley Covert: We chose "For the Birds" and then switched back to elephants and then switched back to "For the Birds," and I think it was just really frustrating, because even when we got to where the Roadblock was, Amy and [Jason Case] and Nicole and Travis were still there.

So I think, you know, regardless of everything that happened at the Detour, if Amy wouldn't have helped Nicole, Ally and I still would've had a huge opportunity to beat Travis and Nicole out.

Allison "Ally" Mello: And the reason why I'm pretty confident about that is because Ashley got it on her first try and she understood what needed to happen. And Nicole, she had no idea, no idea.

Reality TV World: So just to clarify, if you had actually decided to switch Detour tasks, do you think it would've made any difference at all in the outcome of the leg?

Allison "Ally" Mello: It could have. It's hard to say. But at the same time, there was so much traffic in Indonesia and you always take the chance of getting lost or having so much traffic, and we had already spent a lot of time at "For the Elephants." It would've been a real risk, so I'm not sure. It may have worked out, but I don't know. It's hard to say.

Reality TV World: What did you girls personally think of Marie "Reebs" Mazzocchi? It seemed like she annoyed and was disliked by many of the teams this season. However, some Racers I've spoken to have said she owns who she is and they totally respect that about her.

Allison "Ally" Mello: Yeah. (Laughs)

Ashley Covert: I mean, when we were racing, we had a blast with Marie. I mean, we were able to kind of be with her in the airports and on planes and on trains, and [we] laughed about stuff and really just got to know her.

I definitely respect her as a person, and I mean, she may come off a little bit crazy on the Race, but at the end of the day, Ally and I had a great time with her. I think you, [Ally], can agree with that too. We had fun.

Allison "Ally" Mello: Yeah, she's not somebody that I would trust on the Race and she's pretty vulgar, but at the same time, at least she's real, because not everybody on the Race comes across as real. They're a little bit on the phony side, so that's why I respected her personally, because I knew that she would say what's on her mind and not sugarcoat it.

Reality TV World: Would you mind sharing which teams you thought were kind of phony?

Allison "Ally" Mello: Um, I mean, I don't want to put anyone down. It's just, you know, people act differently when they have a camera on them and some people were the same on the camera and off. I tend to enjoy those people more, but I don't really want to call them out. (Laughs)

Reality TV World: How were you cast on The Amazing Race? How did you end up on the show?

Ashley Covert: Ally and I work for the LA Kings obviously, and [The Amazing Race executive producer] Jerry Bruckheimer is a huge Kings fan. So he actually gave us the opportunity to get cast and go through a really great interview process with a lot of girls, and we just kind of kept making it through and we ended up on the Race! And then we made the Top 5!

Allison "Ally" Mello: Not too shabby! There were other Ice Crew girls there from another team, so they just kind of wanted that hockey presence to audition. We made it through the auditions and we're very grateful.

Reality TV World: Were you girls actually fans of The Amazing Race prior to getting cast and appearing on the show, or were you not that familiar with the series beforehand?

Ashley Covert: I've been a huge fan of the show. I've watched the show growing up with my parents and always kind of joked around, like, "Oh, I would be able to do this Roadblock," or, "I could do this Detour!"

And I remember the show starting in New York, the very first season, and now it's always in LA. So I definitely, when we were told about the opportunity, it wasn't even like a question of, "Oh should I do this or not?" It was just like, I don't even remember what I put in the email because I wanted to do it so badly.

Allison "Ally" Mello: Right. And I have been a fan as well. I used to love watching The Amazing Race and Survivor, and I was familiar and knew that it would be an awesome opportunity to be able to go on it. And so, I definitely jumped on that as well! (Laughs)
