Survivor: Cagayan -- Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty's fifth episode featured Solana castaway Lindsey Ogle quitting the show after getting into a personal conflict with her tribemate Trish Hegarty.

Lindsey, a 29-year-old hairstylist from Kokomo, IN, also seemed to want out of Survivor because she had lost her one ally in Cliff Robinson -- a fellow former Brawn tribe member -- and could no longer stand the weather and hunger elements in the game.

In a recent exclusive interview with Reality TV World, Lindsey talked about her controversial decision to quit and why it had to come to that.

Reality TV World: You were actually shown saying you were regretting going on Survivor and wish you hadn't all the way back on Day 7 during the storm. Can you address that? Viewers have speculated that comment suggested it was only a matter of time before you quit.

Lindsey Ogle: Well, you know, they have to -- obviously it's a long period of time that the filming is being done, right? And then they cut those parts out. Everybody went through hell during the storm. I mean, everybody had their [problems]. People were crying, people were, you know, it was terrible.

And I think we all said things that -- you know when you say something and you feel relieved after you say it? If I wanted to quit at that point, I would have quit on Day 7 if I regretted being on [Survivor]. But you're tearing in your beer at that point. You're just like, "Oh my gosh!"

But then the sun comes out and you're totally fine, everything's back to normal and you're doing your thing. But I think that when your toenails are falling off and you're sitting next to this makeshift fire, you might not be the happiest princess on the planet and you're going to say some things that are inside. And it makes you feel better for a minute and then you keep going on.

Reality TV World: What made you decide not to go back to camp and tell your tribe you had decided to quit? I understand you had issues with some of them, but even someone like Yung "Woo" Hwang seemed to be an ally of yours at that point.

Lindsey Ogle: Actually, no. There's a lot that goes on that I can't really touch base on all the way, but at that time, the decision not to go back was because it wasn't like I was licking my wounds, like, "Oh, nobody wants to play my game!" No.

It was because I had so much fury towards that woman, I was just so physically ready to pounce on her. If I got one little inch, you know, too close to [Trish], I know that there wasn't going to be anybody to stop me, and then we're going to have a whole other can of worms.

And it's a can of worms I would rather not open. So I just told [Jeff Probst]. And we kind of discussed back and forth, "What should we do? What should we not do? Are you comfortable with this?" I don't feel like I handled it incorrectly. I feel like I did it the safest way possible, and I'm not talking about safe for me. I'm talking about safe for her.

Reality TV World: But the producers obviously didn't feel there was a physical threat because they were giving you the option to go back.

Lindsey Ogle: Right. Well, you also want an entertaining show.

Reality TV World: Can you explain exactly what your issues with Trish were and why you two clashed so badly? Because it seemed like the rest of your tribe managed to get along with her, and some of them even deliberately chose to align with her.

Lindsey Ogle: Well, it was actually only two people and they were from a different tribe.

Reality TV World: Didn't Tony Vlachos align with her as well as Sarah Lacina?

Lindsey Ogle: Right. Actually, Sarah aligned with Tony. Tony had Trish as his little, like, puppet. So I think that she was kind of disposable, it looks like to me on the episodes. And just kind of the body language that you're reading from people, I think everybody was up in the air.

You make a storyline and you go with it, and I think that it's very interesting what they're doing to it. But there were times, you know, Trish had her day with everybody, and I don't think it's going to be the last occurrence.

I think that she's such an explosive, ridiculous, antagonizing personality that I don't think I'm going to be the last person. But you never know, and I'm excited to watch and see how she kind of goes. But I definitely don't want to spend all my time talking about someone that I have no respect for.

Reality TV World: What can you tell me about Tony? You had seemed to suspect, along with Cliff, that Trish might flip on you guys. But you all seemed pretty confident about Tony.

Lindsey Ogle: Well, Tony's kind of a goofball. When we were out there, we really didn't find him as a threat. But I think that if I was just a viewer and not a player, he'd probably be one of my favorites. He's playing the game and he's doing what he needs to do.

He was always into something but you never knew what it was. But when you're actually playing the game with him, you think he's just so dumb that he wouldn't be capable of doing half the things that he was doing. He's doing all the things that everybody wishes they could do after it was all over, you know?

Reality TV World: What had your strategy been going into Survivor and how did the announcement of the Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty twist and your placement in that setup end up affecting it? Did it change your strategy at all last minute?

Lindsey Ogle: Well there's actually an extra [clip] on YouTube I think, there's me talking about my strategy. My strategy going into it was I was going to blend and just be normal and just, you know, fly under the radar a little bit. I'm a little bit how [Morgan McLeod] is playing right now, just kind of fluffing around a little bit.

And then I realized that in no way, shape or form is that my personality and there's no way that I can put on this facade for 39 days. So I kind of just started working with what I could get. There was a lot of strategy in there, but I think that the drama between Trish and myself and some of the others kind of overtook that.

So I was just basically trying to find my way, and you know, set up some alliances -- not get too crazy, but at the same time, put up some sturdy alliances. And if they didn't work out, then just move on.
