Duane Chapman, best known for his TV show "Dog the Bounty Hunter," is the center of a lawsuit in California over his family's actions.

Chapman was named in a suit filed Wednesday by Daly City, Calif., native Simaile "Cisco" Lutu -- who claims that Chapman's bounty hunting family and area police both incorrectly targeted him as a wanted fugitive and harassed him for three days, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Chapman and his family were hunting a bail-jumper in May 2005, and Chapman's son grabbed Lutu believing he was the target, forcing a filmed confrontation.

Even after Chapman cleared Lutu with his family, the nightclub promoter was cuffed and held at gunpoint by both Daly City and Burlingame police over the next two days.

The paper said Lutu's lawsuit seeks damages from the 53-year-old Chapman, his bail bond company, the police officers involved and the A&E cable channel, which televises "Dog the Bounty Hunter."
