NBC has won its 10th Monday in 11 weeks among adults 18-49, led by the highest-rated summer edition of “Fear Factor” in nearly two years.

According to preliminary “fast affiliate-based” in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, the Labor Day telecast of “Fear Factor” (4.5 rating, 13 share among adults 18-49, 10.9 million viewers overall) achieved the show’s highest 18-49 rating outside the traditional television season since Sept. 5, 2001. It’s the highest-rated “Fear Factor” encore telecast inside or outside the regular season since March 17, 2003.
“Fear Factor” won the 8-9 p.m. ET hour Monday in virtually all key ratings categories and improved by a hefty 36 percent on its Labor Day 2002 rating among adults 18-49 (3.3/9). Last Monday’s margin of victory in 18-49 was a towering 73 percent over CBS’ second-place comedy rebroadcasts.
NBC remained in a virtual tie for the #1 spot Monday night from 9-10 p.m. ET with a “For Love or Money 2” reunion special, which scored a preliminary 3.8/10 in 18-49 and attracted 8.9 million viewers in that hour. The full “For Love 2” episode ran from approximately 9-10:10 p.m. ET. The 9-10 p.m. rating in 18-49 is a huge 81 percent improvement over NBC’s time-period result on Labor Day 2002 (2.1/5).
From 10-11 p.m. ET, “Meet My Folks” and the closing minutes of “For Love 2” averaged a 3.4/9 among adults 18-49 and 7.8 million viewers overall, which currently keeps NBC a close #2 in 18-49 and puts it #1 among adults 18-34, women 18-34 and women 18-49. For the hour, NBC is up 62 percent over its 18-49 result in the time period on Labor Day 2002 (2.1/5).
