Florida and California judges Tuesday were considering who should get Anna Nicole Smith's body and how to determine who is her baby's father.
In Broward County, Fla., a judge was scheduled to take testimony on who will receive Smith's body. In California, a hearing was scheduled about how to conduct paternity testing for Smith's 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, ABC News said.
Smith died Feb. 8 in Florida of unknown causes.
In the Florida court, Smith's companion, Howard K. Stern, was ordered to appear to tell what he knew of Smith's burial plans. He said Smith wanted to be buried in the Bahamas beside her son Daniel, who died in September.
Challenging Stern is Smith's estranged mother, Virgie Arthur, who said she wants to bury Smith in her native Texas.
Smith's will did not include burial directives.
Larry Birkhead, who claims he fathered Smith's daughter, is expected to be physically in Florida, while attending by conference call the California hearing on the paternity matter, the New York Daily News said.
Stern is listed as the child's father on the birth certificate. Also claiming paternity is Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt.
