Former American Idol winner Phillip Phillips was apparently stolen by another management company owned by John Mayer's ex-manager Michael McDonald.

According to a new lawsuit, 19 Entertainment -- who signed Phillips after his Season 11 Idol victory in May 2012 -- is suing McDonald, who runs Mick Management, for at least $4 million, TMZ reported.
19 Entertainment is accusing McDonald of allowing Phillips to open for Mayer's tour back in 2013 as a way to lure him into signing with his own company, partially because he was going to lose Mayer.
19 Entertainment connected Mick Management's alleged tactics with Phillips' January move to attempt to void his contract with them. 19 Entertainment reportedly believes Phillip just wanted to jump ship and ink a deal with Mick Management instead.
Phillips netted about $5 million in 2013 and more in 2014, according to TMZ, so 19 Entertainment desperately wants to keep him onboard.

Phillips, although grateful to American Idol for jump-starting his music career, filed a claim against 19 Entertainment earlier this year claiming producers had "manipulated" him and made an unacceptable amount of money off his successes.
