Former The Bachelor bachelorette Renee Oteri Maynard is taking another stab at an ABC reality competition series.

"I've always loved to cook my whole life," Renee told People. "I started in the kitchen really young just watching my mom and then moving forward I was a house cook on Bachelor for the two weeks we were in L.A. in the mansion [and] it was so much fun. I love to cook for other people. That's really my joy."
Renee insisted she's not appearing on the culinary show for more television exposure.
"TV is not my thing," Renee said. "I'm kind of nervous behind cameras and so I don't even know why I even went this route, but I truly do love to cook... I thought this would be just really different and more up my alley."
The reality TV star is currently pregnant with her second child -- her first baby boy with Bracy. She's already mom to a nine-year-old son Ben from her previous marriage.
"It's definitely interesting cooking [while] being pregnant," Renee explained.
"I pick up different scents. Some things kind of gross me out now whereas they didn't before, but what I'm doing now that I'm pregnant that's different is I am coming up with the most bizarre concoctions ever."
Of The Taste's judges, Renee admitted she's "really excited" to meet celebrity chef Nigella Lawson.
"I was actually starstruck," she told People about initially meeting Nigella. "I just feel like I can relate to her. She's a mom. She's a home cook. She started at the bottom and worked her way all the way up by herself, and I just think that's really cool and admirable."
Renee apparently can't predict how well her cooking skills will fare on The Taste, but she's ready for the challenge.
"I kind of just took a big leap of faith with this whole thing, but I'm really just looking forward to kind of seeing how it all plays out," Renee said. "I have no idea how well or how terrible I'm going to do so it'll be definitely interesting."
Renee announced she's pregnant again in July, which was less than four months after marrying Bracy. The couple wed in March via a courthouse ceremony just three short weeks after getting engaged.

When Renee appeared on The Bachelor, she was sent home by Juan Pablo after he visited her hometown in Sarasota, FL, and met her family -- including Ben. Her elimination was filmed in October 2013 although the episode didn't air until February.
Bracy was reportedly a childhood best friend of Renee's and also her first kiss. The pair actually dated after Renee had divorced her ex-husband in 2008 following four years of marriage.
