Chris Carney, "twentyfourseven" star and husband to "Sonny with a Chance" actress Tiffany Thornton, died in a car crash on Dec. 4. He was 35.
The singer and television personality was killed in a single car crash outside of Hot Springs, Ark., early Friday morning. Ezekiel Blanton, 37, who was driving the vehicle, also died in the accident.
TVH11 reported Blanton's car flew off the road while going around a curve and hit a tree. TMZ said at least one of the men was ejected from the vehicle, and both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Carney is survived by his wife, actress Tiffany Thornton, known for playing Tawni Hart on the Disney Channel series "Sonny with a Chance" and "So Random!." The couple married in November of 2011, and share 3-year-old son Kenneth and 21-month-old son Bentley.
"Our hearts are breaking," 105.9 KLAZ, home to Thornton's radio show Kramer and Tiffany, wrote on Facebook. "Please send up your prayers for Tiffany and her family. She is loved by us and our many listeners."
Carney came to fame as the frontman for The Prom Kings, and released his debut, self-titled album with the band in August 2005. He went on to star on the reality series "twentyfourseven," which aired for one, abbreviated season on MTV.
