An outside investigation has cleared "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul of charges levied by former contestant Corey Clark, the Fox Network announced Friday.

Fox, FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment hired outside counsel to investigate Clark's charges that he had a sexual relationship with the former Lakers Girl -- and that she gave him advice on the side to help him through the competition.

The 600-hour investigation spanning three months failed to substantiate any of the charges Clark made against Abdul, Fox said in a news release Friday.

The investigators interviewed 43 witnesses, including Clark and Abdul.

Fox, FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment issued a release saying Abdul will continue as a judge on "American Idol."

Produces also announced implementation of a "non-fraternization policy" to protect the integrity of the competition.
