Reports that Britney Spears is being dumped from The X Factor's judging panel are premature, according to Fox.

Earlier this week, Us Weekly reported The X Factor would be axing Spears from next year's third-season judging panel.
"Britney will get the boot," a source told the magazine. "Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn't working."
Sources told Us that Spears was less than enthusiastic on The X Factor's second-season judging panel and contributed little to the show's entertainment value, which disappointed producers considering she was signed to an expensive $15 million contract.
"They paid all that for her to say 'amazing' and offer half-claps," a source told the magazine.
Spears joined the reality singing competition as a judge in May along with fellow newcomer Demi Lovato. Creator and judge Simon Cowell has dodged questions about whether Lovato will come back.
Veteran judge L.A. Reid recently confirmed his departure from The X Factor, leaving at least one spot open on the panel for the show's upcoming third season.
