Fox Reality has reportedly offered to buy ABC's shelved reality series "Welcome to the Neighborhood."

Outcry over its racist undertones prompted ABC to yank the series about a white Texas neighborhood's reaction to seven different ethnically diverse families. African-Americans, Hispanics, Koreans, Wiccans and a gay couple with an African-American child were among the families moved in and out of a vacant house while cameras recorded the neighbors' reactions.

Fox Reality, a cable arm of the Fox network, told the New York Daily News the controversial show would be a perfect fit with its audience.

"One of the underlying promises of reality television is that is does serve up human existence in a slightly less varnished and falsified manner," Fox Reality head David Lyle told the Daily News.

So far, however, ABC has not "taken us up on our kind offer," he added.
