Fox has formally announced American Idol will return for a fourteenth season and released the audition dates and locations for the new edition.

After Minneapolis, auditions will continue in New Orleans, LA on June 25; Uniondale, NY on July 23; Nashville, TN on July 30; and San Francisco, CA on September 29.
Guys and girls trying out must be between the ages of 15 and 28 as of June 1, 2014. They must also be eligible to work in the United States.
Auditioners can submit videos online at www.americanidol.com beginning Thursday, May 8 through Tuesday, July 1.

Later this year, Idol's "Audition Bus Tour" will head out again and visit the following additional cities: Portland, OR; Portland, ME; Reno, NV; Columbus, OH; Albuquerque, NM; Amarillo, TX; Myrtle Beach, SC; Branson, MO; Tallahassee, FL; Richmond, VA; and Kansas City, MO. Therefore, 15 cities across America will be reached through the entire audition process.
